Fluent stores the information your assistant needs so each conversation can begin with useful context.

What Fluent Can Store

Depending on what you use, that can include:

• your name, timezone, and preferences
• meal plans, recipes, grocery lists, and meal feedback
• closet items, item details, and photos
• grocery or clothing budgets and spending you enter yourself

Where Your Data Lives

Hosted Service

When you use Fluent online, your data is stored in Fluent's hosted Cloudflare environment. Fluent handles authentication, storage, and updates.

Run It Yourself

When you run the open-source version, your data stays in the environment you control. By default, Fluent stores its database, uploaded files, and access token under ~/.fluent/.

You are responsible for securing, backing up, and updating your installation.

Photos And Files

Style can store photos associated with closet items. A standard JSON backup includes information about those files, but not the files themselves. Copy the uploaded files separately when moving a self-hosted installation.

Exporting Your Data

After signing in at mcp.meetfluent.app/account, request an export and download it when it is ready. Export files are available for 7 days.

If you want a copy of your data before deleting your account, request the export first.

Deleting Your Account

Account deletion is permanent and available after sign-in. Once you confirm, Fluent removes the account’s saved data and uploaded files.

Start at mcp.meetfluent.app/sign-in, then open the account deletion page. If you cannot sign in, email hello@meetfluent.app from the address associated with your account.

Backups When You Run Fluent Yourself

The open-source version supports JSON backups for saved information. Uploaded photos and other files must be backed up separately.

Security When You Run Fluent Yourself

The open-source server uses a bearer token. Keep it on a trusted network or place it behind a properly configured HTTPS reverse proxy before allowing remote access.

Which Option Is Right For Me?

Use Fluent online if you want the simplest setup and are comfortable with Fluent handling storage and authentication.

Run Fluent yourself if direct control over data location, backups, and access is your priority.
